Treasurer Duties: (MGL Chapter 41, Section 35)
- Receive and take charge of all money belonging to the town, and pay over and account for the money according to the order of the town or of its authorized officers.
- pays the bills of all departments.
- Gives an annual account of all receipts and disbursements and a report of all official acts.
- Oversees all Town trust funds, bonds, loans and retirement systems which are in the treasurer’s custody, and any such fund that is deemed to be public funds.

Accountant Hours
Every other Tuesday and Friday mornings all day at Town Hall.
Available by appointment.
Accountant Duties: (MGL Chapter 41, Section 57)
- Maintain municipal books including a general journal, general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
- Prepare warrants. Verify that any expense payment is lawful, justified and that funding exists under the appropriate budget line item.
- Prepare monthly and year-end reports for officers or department heads showing the total appropriations, expenditures and the balance in each appropriation.
- Reconcile cash with Treasurer and receivables with Collector.
- At year end, prepare Combined Balance Sheet, Schedule A and other reports necessary for certification of Free Cash.
