The Town of Ashfield is accepting applications for the position of Fire Chief.
The Fire Chief is appointed by and works under the direction of the Select Board pursuant to Chapter 48, Section 42 of the General Laws of Massachusetts, and local by-laws. This position performs a variety of technical, administrative and supervisory work regarding the planning, organizing, directing and implementing fire prevention, community education, fire suppression and emergency medical services to prevent or minimize the loss of life and property by fire, emergency medical conditions and other hazards. The position is performed with extensive discretion using independent judgement and established laws, ordinances, policies, and procedures.
Position is full time, benefitted, with a salary range of $50,000-$65,000 commensurate on certification and experience.
